Arel sighed as she rested her chin in her hands as she gazed at the many empty tables. She had been hoping to find at least one person down here. She had gotten to practice a bit but hadn't gotten to perform fully in front of anyone yet. Arel was still used to entertaining people and making them smile. She still hadn't completely gotten used to weyr life. though it did make sense that she hadn't yet since she hadn't been there long.

K'eld of Blue Jeth
I will be right out here, when you are done, Jeth let K'eld know as he dropped off his young Rider. Of course, the Blue barely stayed on the ground long, as he was more interested in sunning himself rather than standing around waiting for K'eld to venture out. His' work for the day . . . Find someone to talk to, or at least that was what Jeth had ordered him to do. K'eld sighed, tugging at the lapels of his riding vest, as he watched Jeth lift himself off the ground and disappear onto one of the sunning ledges above the lower caverns. I'll call you when I get done, he sent back to his dragon, even as he started down into the caverns. As he entered to gloom, letting the glowworms light his way, K'eld was happy to see that there were still yeast rolls out for those who had misses breakfast, but was too early for lunch. Snagging two of the rolls, he turned on his heel, while taking a bite out of one of the rolls. It was then that he noticed he wasn't alone in the cavern, which caused him to tense for a moment. It was a female . . . most likely a Candidate, a future Dragonrider, and someone he may need to know in the future. Sighing, he took a step toward the girl, chewing the roll, while holding the remaining bit and the other in his hands. Ever since Impressing Jeth, he had had to come out of his shell, and with his, and Jeth's, intentions on woeing S'rian and Green Forsooth, K'eld was in horrible need of branching out and learning to talk ocne more with people. "Hello there," he stated, his voice shakey at first, but gaining confidence. "My name is K'eld . . . What is yours?" he asked as he took a seat across from the girl.[/blockquote]

Arel immediately perked up when she heard someone step up to the table she was at. Yes! Someone I can entertain! Arel smiled widely up at him. "Hello, I'm Arel." Arel thought for a second as she thought about his name. "Ne, does that mean your a rider?" Hmm, he's sounds a bit shy. I wonder which act would be best for him.

K'eld of Blue Jeth
Placing his elbows on the table, K'eld nodded when the girl, Arel, questioned him about being a Rider. "I am. My dragon is Blue Jeth," he stated, grinning. You forgot to add that your Blue is beautiful and intelligent, Jeth added, causing K'eld to chuckle inwardly. "Are you a dragon Candidate or drudge?" he asked. There was no same in being a drudge, he had known and worked beside great people who were drudges and servants.[/blockquote]

Arel crossed her arms on the table. "I'm a candidate, but just before I came here I performed in a caravan of entertainers." Arel was quietly crossing off different acts in her head. Knife juggling. No. Fire juggling. No. Fire dancing. No. Hmm, I need to think of a right one to do. She wanted one that would make him smile and maybe laugh not one that would scare him off.

K'eld of Blue Jeth Finishing off the first roll, K'eld offered the second to Arel, figuring if she really wanted one, she would have gotten her own, but he didn't want to seem rude. A caravan of entertainers? he thought, Jeth catching on and crooning. Maybe she could teach you to dance and you could impress Forsooth's!! Jeth suddenly butted in, causing K'eld to snap down on their link until the dragon stopped roaring in laughter at him. You shouldn't ease drop! K'eld sent, acutally turning red. She'll think you fancy her if you keep blushing, Mine, Jeth sent, backing out of K'eld's mind and returning to sunning himself. Taking in a deep breath, K'eld slowly let it out and sighed heavily. "My mother was a cook, not for the Weyr, but for a small Hold. We didn't have much dealings with cavarans or entertainers," he stated, shrugging and hoping that the blush was gone from his cheeks.[/blockquote]

Arel stared in shock at K'eld "W-what!? No entertainers!? How can you live without entertainers!?" Arel couldn't believe what he said. She and her older brother lived to entertain others. She couldn't imagine a life without entertainers, well, entertaining people. "Does that mean you've never even seen one performance by any entertainer?"

K'eld of Blue Jeth
Looking up at the ceiling of the cavern, K'eld only grinned as he looked back at Arel. "My dear, I have seen and witnessed dragons dancing in the skies. I have seen firelizards twirl themselves aroudn each other, watched herdbeast dance to the beat of a Beastcrafters tune, but I have never seen humans perform for other humans," he stated. Even Jeth had to dip his head in the fashion that K'eld had worded his words. It had been simple, to the point, but a bit over the top, but it made his point. [/blockquote]

Arel's mouth fell open at what he said before a 'thump' was heard from her head hitting the table top. Arel clutched the sides of her head as she let out a groan. "By the egg, if my brother ever heard you say that....." Arel trailed off as she thought about her brothers reaction. It wouldn't have been pretty. It was pretty hard on herself to hear K'eld say those awful words. "Ugh, that's not just right. You should never tell that to a serious entertainer, it could cause them too much mental pain."

K'eld of Blue Jeth
Is the little one alright? Jeth questioned, having heard the thump of something hitting something hard through his link with K'eld. K'eld's inital thoughts of Arel causing herself harm by hitting her head that hard had only fed Jeth's concern. She's seems upset that I've never seen a real performer perform, K'eld sent, lowering his head, his neck strained, as he tried to look into Arel's eyes. "You mean like what you just tried to do?" he questioned, a slight smile on his face, as he tentively touched her forehead. "How's your head?" he asked, true concern leaking into his words. And then his mind clicked. "Where is your brother?" he asked, then added, "And the rest of your family?" It seemed that once you became apart of any Weyr, not that he had ever been to any other Weyr, you became apart of that Weyr and your past life seemed to completely disappear, unless your family lived at the Weyr. People tended to just assume that extended family was either close or didn't exist.[/blockquote]

Arel turned her head enough to look at him. "It doesn't hurt as much as the mental pain you just caused me." She rubbed her forehead as she sat up and let out a sigh. " You are so lucky he isn't here. He would flip if he heard you." Arel rubbed her head a bit more then lowered her hand. "He's still with the caravan, he wasn't sure if he should stay here or not so he decided to think about it for awhile. Relte is the only family I have so it feels a bit weird not to be with him right now."

K'eld of Blue Jeth
K'eld sighed as Arel mentioned her brother and his reaction to K'eld having never seen a performer perform. He didn't know what to say about her brother not being with her, or she not being with him. He had no siblings that he was that close too, thus he had formed no connection with any of them. So there was no attached feeling toward one that meant his leaving his home Hold and moving to the Weyr had made it difficult. Instead, K'eld just placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I know it may not help, but being here . . . Without Relte, could be better for you," he stated, looking over his shoulder, as if Jeth was behind him. "When I first got here, I was shy . . . to the point of my first day, I sat in my barracks, back against the wall, whimpering like a kicked canine because I was so afraid of being here. After a little while, I got use to it . . . then I Impressed my dragon . . . and it helped . . a lot, to have someone to turn too, other than a barracks wall," he stated, knowing it wouldn't make missing her brother any less painful, but maybe . . . "Would you be willing to perform for me? Show me what I've been missing for seventeen Turns?" he asked, grinning as he tried to cheer her up. [/blockquote]

Arel gave him a blank stare when he said that it might be a good thing she was away from her brother. ".....yeah, up until the point I blow the whole weyr up..." Arel muttered under her breath as she listened to K'eld. Arel immediately jumped up from the table when he asked her to perform for him. "You bet I'll perform! I'll knock the boots right off your feet!" Arel grabbed the bag she had left sitting by her feet and threw it on the table behind her as she ran into the kitchens. A few clangs and bangs could be heard before she ran back out with a bunch of knives. She threw them so they landed in a neat row along the front of the table she hand thrown her bag. Arel jumped onto the table top and knelt down in front of her bag. She reached in and pulled out a small leather flask that had a faint metallic smell to it. Arel uncorked the flask with her teeth and smirked a K'eld. "Hope you're not too flammable."

K'eld of Blue Jeth At the mention of K'eld being flammable, Jeth moved from his sunning ledge to place his body in front of her lower cavern enterance. Say the word and I will be there to protect you, Mine, he hissed, his rumbling sound echoing softly down the cavern, reaching K'eld and Arel. This caring noise caused K'eld to chuckle. "I would watch what you say, sweet Arel," K'eld stated, kicking his boots up on the table, waiting for the show. His arms crossed over his lean chest, light blue orbs intently watching Arel get ready. He had been a bit frightened when she had thrown the knives but foudn that it was the kind of fright that made one laugh afterward. Though she looked about the same age as himself, K'eld figured she had been doing this kind of thing for many Turns with her brother and the other performers, so he figurered there wasn't much reason to fear for himself. Calm down Jeth . . . She's young, but I don't think she's stupid enough to hurt a Rider, with his dragon right outside. No matter how small this space is," he sent to the worried Blue, helping calm the dragon who would have blown fire down the cavern, if he had firestones.[/blockquote]

Arel made sure to keep her thumb over the top of the flask. She really didn't want the weyr to blow up. Arel tilted her head back and spit the cork high up into the air then quickly took a swig of the flask. As soon as she had the right amount she stood up and caught the cork on its way down. As quickly as she caught it she shoved the cork back into the top of the flask. Arel nearly smirked as she saw the blue dragon land outside the cavern but made sure to keep her mouth shut. She now had the perfect idea for her act. She bent her knees low and spread her arms out to her sides as she dropped the flask onto the table top. Arel counted down in her mind as bent her legs even farther. Three. Two. One. Go!
Arel pushed hard off the table and sent herself flying high up into the air. She nearly reached the top of the high cavern thanks to the many turns of strengthening her legs. As she began to descend she started to spin and twist in a complicated series of mid-air flips. As she did she also let some of the liquid from the flask out of her mouth. The liquid immediately erupted in to flames that twisted around her as she spun in the air. When she was half way down she closed her mouth again and sealed the rest of the liquid in her mouth until later. Arel did one last back flip before she landed on the table. In a split second she twisted her body and spun around. As she did she grabbed a blade in each hand. She quickly ran both blades through her lips and they both burst into flames. As the flames from before began to descend over her she rose up with both now blazing knives. She seemed to dance through the flames as she spun and twisted on the table top, both of the fiery blades slicing through the flames. Arel twisted around and drooped to one knee as she brought one of the knives down into a sweeping motion making sparks dance across the table top. Almost ready.
Arel stood back up and did a spinning kick that reach high over her head. Almost there. Almost.....Now! Arel turned and grabbed the rest of the knives in her hands. She then stood quickly and tilted her head back to spit the rest of the liquid high up into the air. When the liquid burst into flames it was now a deep shade of blue. Arel had discovered over the turns that the color of the flames would change depending on how long the liquid stayed in her mouth. As the blue flames spread above them, Arel spun in a circle and let all of the knives fly up though the flames. They cut through the flames and changed the shape they took. As the knives descended they cut threw the flames once more before being caught by Arel. Arel had dropped to one knee and caught the knives with her arms crossed over each other just above her shoulders. She then shot both arms forward then straight out behind her to put out the still burning blades. Arel smirked as the blue flames now resembled a blue dragon in flight with a stream of red flame coming from its fiery jaws. As the flames slowly disappeared overhead Arel's smirk grew wider. "So, you like you're first performance by an entertainer?"
