Paeryth slid into the water, her eyelids lowering with contentment. At least the Lake has not changed very much. Amzinai's water is not nearly as nice, commented the Teal as she moved farther in the the water. Safe on shore, T'lir watched his baby sister carefully while she played at the water's edge. She shrieked happily as the water flew into the air as though by magic, but with the assistance of her hands. "Anthia, be careful now. I can't have you getting soaked." T'lir warned lightly as the Weyrbrat splashed around.
She is smart enough not to get completely wet, T'lir. Hey, I can't help but worry. He held up a blanket for Thia as she approached and wrapped around her squirming body. "Daddy. I'm hungry." She looked innocently up at him and T'lir was almost tempted to give her the sweets she was actually wanting. You have to eat your roots first, Anthia. Paeryth reprimanded the child gently as she approached shore so she could bask in the sun.
Thia scrunched up her face with dislike and glared up at T'lir. "You heard Paeryth. Healthy food first. Sweets last." He pulled a couple of meatrolls out of the basket beside him and handed one to his sister. "You have to eat four and then you get a sweet bun." If she had been bigger, the dark glare she directed at the Tealrider might have actually been frightening. However, it only made T'lir laugh. She ate the food grudgingly, finishing each piece swiftly. "Sweetbun now." "Say please." "Pweeeeease, Daddy?" Anthia snatched the sugary treat and squirmed out of T'lir's lap. He tended to steal it sometimes and this was one bun that was not making it into his belly.
T'lir, what about Kveld? Are you going to seek him out or not? Silence. Tae, answer me. We have been here for a sevenday and you still have not searched for Him. I don't know, Paeryth. I'll probably ask around tomorrow. Okay? You better. The Teal directed a certain "look" at her rider and T'lir pretended to ignore it. For the last three turns, he had only thought about one person. Kveld, a candidate boy T'lir had met just before his mother had died. In his grief, he had abandoned the young man nothing, not even a note. After his grief had finally passed, he had still not tried to contact Kveld. Maybe it was his shame at having given him no warning. Surely, Kveld would not forgive him.

K'eld of Blue Jeth
He didn't know how, and he didn't know why, but for some reason, K'eld didn't feel like himself today. Everything he did, it seemed like he was sluggish, yet he wasn't sick, at least that was what Jeth kept telling him. Not even the Blue dragon could understand what had gotten ahold of His while they had slept. But K'eld had an idea; news, wither good or bad, had reached his ears that a certain Tealrider had come back to Black Obsidian Weyr, this time, with a baby, possibly three Turns old.
Of course, doubt formed in his mind, as K'eld sat on his bed, hands on his head, white hair hanging down in his eyes, eyes closed. Could the child be T'lir's? It couldn't be . . . T'lir had disappeared only two Turns ago . . . Right? Or had it been three now? He sighed, lifting his head and looking into worry swirling orbs. Tell me, Jeth hissed, anger streaming into those big orbs that filled K'eld with such a fear. Don't be angry at me, K'eld sent, suddenly afraid that his dragon would leave him if he told him of a possible love interest that had left him behind. It is not directed at you, my beloved, but at whoever is causing you such . . . Jeth wasn't even sure what feelings were moving through K'eld. So K'eld told Jeth the whole story, about how he had come to Black Obsidian Weyr, how Tealrider T'lir of Paeryth had been one of the first to greet him. It had been strange, how fast he had come to care for the Tealrider, but even so, upon meeting him, K'eld had silently wished to Impress a dragon that would be worthy of the beautiful Paeryth. Now he has returned . . . with a babe. Questions haunt me . . . to the point where I want to rush out to meet him, and to beat him all at the same time. Let us start with the first . . . We shall see if this Tealrider amounts to enough to court Mine, the Blue hissed as he reached out his neck for K'eld to climb aboard. K'eld reached out and clung to Jeth's neck as the dragon turned and leapt from their ledge. By the time they reached air above the lake, K'eld was in riding place, and shaking from both excitement and fear . . . and a little bit of cold seeing as he had rushed off without proper riding gear and was only wearing a regular tunic top and breeches. As Jeth spotted the adult female Teal, he let out a mighty bugle, before dropping out of the sky in slow lazy circles. Greetings, Jeth sent, not really sure how to address the female. He didn't worry when K'eld didn't move from his neck. The dragon could feel his Rider's emotions through his very seat. It was kind of unnerving.[/blockquote]

"Look, Daddy! Look! Blue like Pae! Blue!" Anthia waved frantically at the Blue dragon that had appeared over the Lake and hopped up and down in her excitement. T'lir looked up and briefly studied the approaching dragon. He did not remember ever meeting this dragon before, and in a random show of protectiveness, grabbed Anthia and placed her behind him. Do not be so hasty, T'lir. They might be friendly. T'lir eyed Paeryth, who had assumed a delicate looking position, and rolled his eyes.
Greetings to you too. I am Paeryth and my rider is T'lir. The child with him is his sister Anthia. She is very excited to meet you. Do you really have to say everything before I can even open my mouth? Be quiet. Glancing at the rider of the Blue, it was hard for T'lir not to recognize the face. "K-Kveld? But I guess it's K'eld now..." He stared openly at the familiar face and would have wept from the overwhelming emotion inside him had he been alone. "What is the name of your handsome Blue?" Anthia waved excitedly from behind T'lir. "Pretty Blue, Daddy. Pretty Blue."

K'eld of Blue Jeth If he wasn't about to shake himself out of his saddle, K'eld would have laughed at the way T'lir eyed Paeryth, yet he kept it in, no matter how much the image was funny. Of course, Jeth was already inching his head lower, about to remove K'eld himself if he didn't slid off now. So, before he was most unwelcomely thrown from Jeth's back, K'eld slid to the ground. When his booted feet hit the ground, K'eld felt strange. His arm came up, hand gripping his right bicep, while his left hand just hung there. There was a feeling of his skin heating up as he lightly rubbed his right hand against his sleeve, but kept his eyes on the child, Paeryth, the grass . . . anything but T'lir.
"I had h-h-heard you had returned tur-rned to the Weyr, Tealrider T'lir," K'eld whispered, his voice barely loud enough to carry across the distance that separated the two Riders. He sighed heavily, before lifting hurt-filled orbs to finally gaze into T'lir's. "I wanted to see if the rumors were true," he stated, eyes quickly darting to the child that was waved at his Jeth. He couldn't help himself, the hurt feelings came back ten-fold as the child started calling his daddy. Mine . . . Paeryth has stated that the little one is actually Her's sister . . . not his child, Jeth stated, before K'eld could allow the anger bubble up. I am Jeth and Yours would be right, Mine is K'eld. The little one may be excited to meet us . . . but Mine is hurt . . ., Jeth sent, actually glaring at T'lir but not taking a step toward him. He, himself, as a Blue dragon, had nothing against the Tealrider, it was just his Rider's emotions flowing through him. What say you and I take the little one away so that Ours may speak privately, pretty Paeryth, Jeth purred, lightly nudging K'eld toward T'lir. I will only be a mental call away, my sweet one, Jeth sent silently to K'eld as he turned a bit, allowing Paeryth to lead the way.[/blockquote]

T'lir of Teal Paeryth Weyrbrat Anthia
T'lir couldn't take his eyes away from K'eld. Even after three turns, the attraction was strong, stronger then before in all honesty. It tore at his heart and guilt welled up inside him. What he had done... What he had done to this young man had been horrible. From the way Kv-- K'eld acted, there was no doubt that T'lir had hurt him. Maybe not physically, but he had definitely hurt him. Pae, what do I do!? You must decide that yourself. T'lir squeezed his eyes shut, fighting back the tears that threatened to appear.
"Yes, the rumors are true. I'm back to stay. Black Obsidian is my home. Amzinai wasn't." Because it didn't have you. The thought came unbidden to his mind and Paeryth wrapped his mind in a blanket of comfort. Both of them had not expected it to be this difficult, but it was and there was nothing that could be changed about it. The Tealrider flinched as he noticed the very fleeting glances K'eld directed to Anthia. He must have thought she was my daughter. A tug on his tunic briefly redirected his thoughts to Thia and the girl's anxious and excited face. "Not now, Anthia." She pouted a little, but didn't speak.
The Blue is named Jeth and he says K'eld hurts. I am sorry that my rider has caused Yours any pain. He is very sorry. Paeryth lowered her head in a sign of understanding while T'lir pretended not to notice the look Jeth gave him. That sounds nice, Jeth. I do not think T'lir would be able to concentrate with us and the child around. She got to her feet and pushed her rider forward, away from Anthia. Come, little one, we are going on adventure with Blue Jeth. Without a second glance at her brother, Anthia scrambled onto Paeryth's back with surprising ease.
When Pae had pushed him, T'lir had stumbled forward, standing awkwardly in front of K'eld. It was no surprise that he was still taller, but it made the situation more uncomfortable. As soon as the dragons were far away, T'lir spoke. "I know you have the right to hate me after everything I've done to you, and I won't hold that against you. I would just like the chance to explain," he took a moment to breath. "Shortly after meeting you, I received a message that my mother had died. She was the only family I had. So out of grief, I rushed over to Amzinai with no explanation to anyone except my Wingleader. There I found she had died in childbirth and left my baby sister, Anthia, behind. It took a long time to come to terms with the grief, and by then, I had already been at Amzinai for a turn. I didn't think you would listen if I actually sent you a message..." T'lir's voice drifted away and he wiped a tear away from his eye.

K'eld of Blue Jeth Actually turning his head away, to watch Jeth and Paeryth leave with the little girl that was T'lir's sister, K'eld only shook his head in thought. In truth, he didn't know what to think. His heart ached with happiness that Anthia wasn't T'lir's child, and T'lir's reasoning made since; even though K'eld couldn't stand his family, if he ever got word from them that they needed him, he would have done the same. But was T'lir right? Would he have listened to the message if T'lir had sent one.
"I would have listened . . . and I would have understood," he stated, voice low, though he forced himself to look up at T'lir. It actually hurt to see him standing here before him. "She seems like a sweet child," he stated, looking back over at the dragons and the child. It wasn't the greatest way to accept someone's apology, but K'eld wasn't sure how to take anything T'lir gave him. It was still strange being able to stand out in the open and talk to a man that you were interested in.
You speak to the child like she is Yours? Jeth sent to Paeryth, watching the Tealrider's sibling with unhidden interest. He has always been the type of dragon that only spoke to His, never finding another human, save for Forsooth's S'rian, worthy enough to speak of. At the thought of Green Forsooth, Jeth lifted his head and glanced back at K'eld, though he noticed that His was in conversation with Paeryth's. Now was not the time, he decided, turning back to the Teal. So you have met Mine before? he questioned, resting his belly agaisnt the ground, while relaxing so that the child could play and the two dragons cuold talk.
Sighing, K'eld placed a hand over his eyes, rubbing his fingers against his temple. "Why didn't you tell me?" he whispered, lowering his hand and looking up at T'lir. "You were the first one at this Weyr that treated me like an adult . . . and then you just disappeared," he stated, trying to fight back the tears that were starting to well up. He was a strong Bluerider . . . he would not cry like a little girl! [/blockquote]
