W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith
The wind was blowing, rather strong, as W'ren stood on his ledge, looking out over the small mountain Weyr that had been his home for the past fourteen Turns. Has it really been fourteen Turns, KenjithMine? he sent to his dragon, who was lounging on the outside portion of the ledge, suning himself. From his position, W'ren could just make out the Amethyst dragon, but he knew he was still there.
It has . . . Why? Are you hoping for something? Kenjith questioned, his gaint head rested on his crossed legs. He was a gaint dragon, bulky and strong, but not misshaped. His head was beautiful, neck long and snake-like, while his wings were massive, able to support his weight and W'ren's, plus a bit more if needed. I will not leave my Gold, Kenjith suddenly hissed, turning yellow and orange swirling orbs on W'ren. Even if the Amethyst had never given chase to Gold Wrath, settling on lower ranking dragons, Wrath was still his, his mother, his Queen. He could have cared less about the other female dragons he had ever caught, as long as Wrath was able to have what she wanted. Seeing as she had never shown interest in having him, he waited. W'ren couldn't help but chuckle as his dragon watched him like a feasting dragonet. "We will not leave Luci and her Gold Wrath . . . at least not until they have gotten their wish of Black Obsidian Weyr on a platter," W'ren stated, walking up beside the sunning dragon and resting his elbow on his dragon's foreleg. Have you ever wondered why she doesn't just stay with Sunset Weyr? NO! was the quick response to his question, causing him to shake his head. Down boy . . . I was just thinking.[/blockquote]

Luci was working on some papers with her plan, about taking Black Obsidian Weyr, that was finally coming together. She tapped her fingers on the desk and sat back with a sigh. "Wrath? Are any of the others around darling???" She asked softly to her dragon in her mind. as she turned her gaze from the papers to her beautiful, golden red, dragon would laid in a neat circle with her body. "There is one as of the moment. W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith." The gold lifted her head head and looked at her rider and gave a soft croon. These moment with her rider were few and far inbetween since her first weyr mate died. "Perhaps you should speak with him Luci??? His is quite handsome" Wrath purred as she pictures the purple colored male.
"Are you insane Wrath!" she shrieked in her head and outloud to the golden queen. "Last time I check I had just lost my weyrmate and your wanting me to find another so soon." She turned away and got up from her chair. She ran her hands down her emerald dress. She was not sure what to do about that man and his dragon. She knew her dragon thought well of him but she did not know if it would be for the weyr best interest at the moment. She turned back around. "Forgive me my dear Wrath I should not have yelled. I suppose I shall go speak to him." Luci said softer then before.
Wrath got up and moved to the ledge. "It is alright LuciMine for I understand you better then anyone else." the queen pured softly t her rider and butted her head gently on the woman she dearly cared for. As soon as her rider was on her back she pushed off the ledge and swung her to the left heading towards the ledge of the Amethyst's ledge. She called out to the purple male as she circled around.

W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith After their little banter, W'ren found the link between himself and his Amethyst was closed off, making him wonder if he had truly upset the dragon. Yet, when he went to reach out to the dragon, he found the link suddenly flung open and joy and pride ringing out, enough to send him pressing a hand to his temple, as if to block out the rays. Greetings beautiful Gold Wrath, the Amethyst bugled, slowly pulling himself back to make room for the Gold. It looked rather comical once he was in position, as his front half was in the light and his back half caged in darkness.
At sight of Weyrwoman Luci and her Gold Wrath, W'ren also backed away from the ledge, giving the two ample room to land. He lifted his chin, watching the Gold's descent onto his private ledge. Of course, when Kenjith had retreated back, it had been an open invitation to the Queen dragon and Her's. He lifted his hand, the one that wasn't shielding his eyes, and waved to the Queenrider; there just wasn't any reason to lift his voice, when she would be landing and dismounting, most likely, in just a moment. Wrath back winged gently to land on the ledge with grace. She balanced herself on her hindlegs before kneeling to the ground for her rider to have less of a hard time getting down. Though the gold had never questioned the thought that hers could not handle it. She turned her head and looked back at her rider. She waited until her rider had gotten completely off before turning her head towards the Amethyst male. "Hello, Kenijth how are you and yours???" she purred softly.
"Thank you Wrath" She said to her dragon all hints of her anger gone. Luci brushed her skirts off and walked towards W'ren. "Thank you W'ren" She said quickly after patting her beloved dragon down. "I suppose it it time we sat down and talked one-on-one." She stated with a wave of her hand before looking back at the dragons. "I expect that what is said here is not talked to anyone else about when I leave."
"Your welcome LuciMine" Wrath stretched her right wing out and begin to preen herself. She kept one eye toward her rider so that she could keep a better watch on her. She would kill anyone that harmed hers even if it ment hurting something that would possibly help the weyr.

W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith W'ren watched the Weyrwoman dismount her Gold dragon, something that was sometimes hard in breeches when you first start, but she did it so easily in skirts. He had to smile, though he quickly pushed it away. He and Luci had been in Sunset Weyr for a long time, their history hardly entertwined, but she had just lost her weyrmate, and this wasn't the time to play his charm on the woman, sadden or not, it was out of respect to the dead.
"Weyrwoman Luci," he stated, slightly bowing at the waist, before lifting himself and turning to grab two chairs. He placed them so that they were hidden from the more direction light, but still in enough that they wouldn't have to freeze within in slightly cooler private weyr. "You have my word that anything you entrust to me will not be repeated unless you give the order," he stated, dipping his head once more, waving to the seat he had put before, allowing her the chance to seat herself, while he turned to Gold Wrath. Kenjith . . . please welcome our beautiful Gold while I tend to Her's needs, W'ren sent to his dragon, as he bowed to the Gold, and took a step back, still waiting for Luci to sit. He stood tall, be relaxed.
Mine and I fare well, beautiful Queen. Mine even sends you his welcome, the Amethyst purred, doing as his Rider did, and slightly bowing his head to the Queen. Neither he nor W'ren stepped over the line from being respect to groveling, as they had all the reason to be respectful to the Gold pair, but nothing to grovel at their feet. It just wasn't their style to grovel. How about you Yours, sweet beauty? [/blockquote]

Luci thought she saw a smile on the Amethyst rider but pushed it out of her mind and noded her head to the man when he rose from bowing to her. She sat in the offered chair letting her skirts fan out perfectly to the sides and in front of her. "That is good to know W'ren." She said with a glimmer of amusement in her eyes. "Now to business the wer has lost its weyrleader and is in need of a new one and I need a stand in until the time comes for Wrath to rise." Her eyes quickly showed the pain she still was feeling over the lose of someone she dearly loved best.
Wrath looked at the Kenjith and nodded like her rider to the purple male. "Thank you and send him my thanks Kenjith." The gold tilted her head towards her rider as she felt sadness come from Luci. She turned her attention back to the male. "We are doing better" the gold said as she raised her crimson maw in pride. She would not let either of them fall yet not until she was sure her's was comfortable with them or any other pair.

W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith With Luci finally sitting, W'ren was about to take his seat across from her, when suddenly, she seemed to pull a trick from her sleeve. He froze, mind spinning with all the possible directions she could be going with her conversation, but only one thing seemed to stand out. She was sitting here . . . infront of him and his dragon, not anyone else. Could that mean? . . . No.
He had been at Sunset Weyr for a very long time. Her late mate had practically raised him after he came to the Weyr. It was from her mate that he had learned what it was all about when he Impressed Kenjith. It had been from his Bronze that Kenjith had sculpted himself after, and it had been from Luci's mate, W'ren had worked so hard to be like. He had respect and looked up to the Bronzerider, enough to speak with him about his home, his family. Enough to trust the man . . . . How would it feel if W'ren's thoughts were true.
Calm yourself, Mine . . . . Wrath's hasn't spoken your doom just yet, the Amethyst chuckled, nearly causing W'ren to fall from the seat he had finally taken. "A stand in?" W'ren asked, glancing away to give the Weyrwoman her privacy at the pain she was showing. He knew it must be hard for her, having lost her mate not to long ago, before she had to come to another male and ask him this. "Your mate was a great Weyrleader, it will be hard to even find a man worth half your mate," he stated truthfully. It is too soon. Yours heart hasn't mended yet, but she reaches out in the best interests for the Weyr, Kenjith stated, lowering his head, and rumbling a note of comfort for the Rider of his mother. She is a strong human, he stated, lifting his head.[/blockquote]

Luci watched him wondering what he was thinking. She looked towards her gold clearing her eyes and face of any emotion. She couldn't understand why she couldn't just rule herself, Though she knew that would be her down fall she needed someone to watch the weyr and they needed things done. She knew that she couldn't get everything done by herself. She turned her eyes back to him.
"A stand in?"
She noded when he asked. She raised her eyebrow wondering what he was trying to get at.
"Your mate was a great Weyrleader, it will be hard to even find a man worth half your mate,"
She smiled slightly and ran her fingers down the ridges of her skirts. "Ah and what if I have found him?" She stated with amusement as she tilted her head letting her dark hair fall infront of her shoulder creating a curtain effect with her hair. "What would you do if I have found that certain someone that could compete?" She watched him through her hazel looking eyes.
Wrath looked at the male "It is but she knows that all to well. She needs another though to comfort her and make her better." The dragoness said as she tilted her head towards her rider her mind filling her rider's mind with love. "Yes she is Kenjith"

W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith
Against his better judgement, W'ren suddenly became very bored with Luci's game and let a smirk play that the edge of his lip. "Are you talking about appointing me as a stand in Weyrleader . . . until our Queen Gold Rises?" he questioned, throwing a glance toward Luci at the mention of the Gold. Of course, his gaze turned back to the Rider. He couldn't help himself, he allowed himself to relax, placing his right ankle over his left knee, while resting his right arm on his right thigh. "Or have you another among your children to look too?" he questioned, blue eyes flashing with interest.
You push too much, Mine, Kenjith hissed, even as the male let his swirling orbs scan over Wrath. She was his birth mother, yes, but she was also a mature, healthy, and beautiful Gold, who's Rider was asking His something that wasn't done very often. We would only be a stand in . . . not the real thing, the Amethyst sent. At least until Wrath Rises . . . then the position is open to whoever who's dragon catches her, W'ren pointed out, causing his dragon's head to dip in understanding. Now all they had to do was wait and see if what they thought was what Luci had asked of them was correct.[/blockquote]

"Are you talking about appointing me as a stand in Weyrleader . . . until our Queen Gold Rises?" he questioned, throwing a glance toward her.
"I have thought about it." Her glance had a dangerous look as she spoke. "I am giving you a choice. Do yo uwish for this job or not. If you don't I will find someone else to do it." She said softly to the man infront of her. She folded her hand and placed them in her lap as she sat up straighter.
Wrath hisses and growled slightly with her claws digging into the ledge. The gold's eyes were tinted with some yellow. She folded her wings against her body with her tail waving back and forth like that of a lioness ready to pounce on her prey.

W'ren of Amethyst Kenjith The yellow swirling in Wrath's eyes caused W'ren to stop his first thought answer. This was serious, not something to be taken lightly. The Senior Weyrwoman of Sunset Weyr was sitting in his private weyr, offering him a chance to stand in as the Senior Weyrleader. There were no strings, at least none he could see, nothing that would attach him to her . . . unless Wrath Rose and Kenjith caught her. I will be among the first in the skies the day that that happens. You can rest assured on that, the Amethyst announced to His, causing W'ren to glance back at the dragon. Kenjith could have been Wrath's dark violet twin. His body was posied as his mother's was, his eyes never leaving the Gold's. It was a challenge they were offered, and he had already begun to ready himself. Sighing, W'ren turned back to Luci and nodded. "Until Wrath Rises and another is chosen, or you ask me, yourself, to step down," he stated, wording his words as he wanted them. It was the best way, as he pledged himself and Kenjith to Luci and Wrath, not the position or title of Weyrleader. Seeing as he was saying the words to the Weyrwoman, no one could question him, or force him to to step down, no matter how outraged the Weyr became. Of course, then it would be completely understandable for Luci to ask him to step down and allow another to help out, but he didn't see the small Weyr turning on him like that. He was a well known Rider, even among the small handfull of Riders within Sunset Weyr.[/blockquote]
